My Time in Service

I had the honor of serving in one of the best military units in the world. First Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment.

I joined the service in 2013 with an Option 40 contract, which guarantees a spot in the Ranger Assessment and Selection Program (RASP), the selection process for the 75th Ranger Regiment.

I completed my initial training at Fort Benning, Georgia, followed by Airborne School, and then RASP. RASP was one of the hardest challenges I have ever faced, and I am proud to have made it through. I started with four other guys from Arizona who also had Option 40 contracts, but I was the only one to complete RASP, earning the coveted tan beret and officially becoming an Army Ranger.

I was assigned to the 1st Ranger Battalion in Hunter Army Airfield in Savannah, Georgia. While I was in, I was awarded the Combat Action Badge, Ranger Tab, and two Army Commendation Medals. I also was fortunate enough to attend and graduate from Airborne school and HALO school.

Ranger Tab

Me in Normandy, France with a veteran that fought in WWII.

While I was in the military, I got to travel the world and visit places from Afghanistan for deployments to France for the 73rd D-Day reenactment. I was able to jump out of planes, fast rope out of helicopters, and shoot a variety of weapons. I was also able to work with some of the best soldiers in the world and learn from them.

I am proud of my service and what I was able to accomplish while I was in. I am grateful for the experiences I had and the people I met. I will always be proud to have been a part of the 75th Ranger Regiment.
